Gone to the Dogs!

Playing with new stamps, stencils, Grit Paste, Thinlets dies and Distress Crayons!

Good Day

The 26th and it's my day again to be featured on Roc's blog.

I started my postcard with a technique that Tim taught in Compendium of Curiosities 103 that I fell in love with. I can't share how I did the background, but it was done with Alcohol Inks.

I reverse stamped Bird Lady. Then I stamped Flying HeartFinally,  I added a pop of Tim Holtz's Broken China Distress Ink to both. I heard the quote on a TV show and liked it, so I printed it out and added it.

This postcard will be going to a player in Roc's Facebook swap group next month. There is still time to join!  https://www.facebook.com/groups/567598263326733/

All of Roc's stamps can be found at Stampotique

Now go have a good day!

SDC-255 Polka Dots

It's time once again for the Stampotique Designers Challenge.

This challenge is Polka Dots. So fun! You can't be sad when there are polka dots around!

I pulled out every polka dot-ish stencil I own and went to town. Donna had given me a bunch of stamps when I saw her last Saturday and I was itching to use some, so these are not Stampotique stamps. I do not know the manufacturer. But I love the flower and the cute bees!

I used Distress Inks, Distress Crayons (and did you hear there are two new sets of  Distress Crayons being shipped NOW?!), Archival Inks, Embossing Powders and Sharpie pens on my background.

I like the softness of this tag!

Compendium of Curiosities 3-Day 6 The Wrap Up

A fabulous week of knowledge being passed on to eager students by Tim was wrapped up with a challenge. For us to take what we had learned in CofC1, CofC2 and CofC3 and use something other than paper to make something. I knew immediately what I wanted to do! It's August and it's time for me to get started on Christmas! So, my first Christmas project is DONE! I am painty, inky, alcoholy, and sticky from glue, but boy am I happy!!

SDC254-Text Background

Time once again for the Stampotique Designers Challenge.

For this go-round, they want to see a text background. Lucky for me, I've got a gozillion and a half backgrounds completed from working on the Compendium of Curiosities 103 with Tim Holtz! So I used one that I did with Distress Crayons and a text background. I kept it simple since there is so much going on in the background and stamped all of my images (Banner, Art Lives Here and Dog) in black Archival ink and added a few highlights with my black Fude ball pen.

Compendium of Curiosities 3- Day 3

Woo Hoo! Now I will only be a day behind! I prepped all of these earlier today since they all had wet elements that needed to dry. Just finished them up. So hopefully I can get caught up tomorrow!

Distress Layered Collage. This is very much like the class that Donna and I took with Tim and Mario at Whim So Doodle back in March, just on a smaller scale.
 Texture Paste Coloring.
Texture Paste Embossing. This one is COOL!!
Texture Paste Resist. This is my favorite out of this bunch.
 Distress Grit Paste Grunge.

Compendium of Curiosities 3-Day 2

I am behind. There. I said it! Oh well, if I catch up, okay. And if I don't that's ok too! I will soldier on!

Day two was so much fun! I have ink all over my fingers, under my nails and I don't care!

Here's some pretty tags to look at!

Distress Paint Resist. LOVE this technique!
Distress Paint Lifting. I originally did this technique in a Dina Wakely class and Tim "borrowed" it. It was cool to revisit it.
Distress Stain Rub Resist. This too is a favorite!
Distress Luminous Mica. I don't know if you can see the shimmer, but it's there! You'll just have to trust me!
Distress Marker Spritzed Watercolor. This one is done on dry paper.
The same technique, but done on wet paper.

Compendium of Curiosities 3-Day One

Yesterday was Day 1 of CofC3. I watched all of the videos then LIFE got in my way. So I was up and at 'em first thing this morning and got all five of my tags done. As in years past, I can't tell you HOW the techniques are done. You had to have done CofC One and Two in order to take part 3 and the class is a very affordable $25 and just like with the first two, you have lifetime access to the classes. You can go here to sign up!

 Distress DIY Hombre
Distress Highlight Stamping (this is one of my favorites!)
 Distress Off-Set Stamping
 Distress Washed Watercolor
 Distress Micro-Glaze Resist
